Over the weekend, Black Twitter did the unthinkable and launched #ControversialCaribbeanOpinions, a crusade against Caribbean food. People were slandering Caribbean dishes left and right and quite frankly, some need to have their flags revoked.

This is how I felt the whole time.

The Caribbean on Caribbean Twitter violence was REAL.

How could you not know that pepper sauce is the GOAT?

And if you’re not eating rice and peas/peas and rice, wyd?

As long as you know that this fruit is lit, you can call it what you like.

Just remember that we can’t be friends if you give me soup without dumplings.

Or come for coconuts.

Mauby is an acquired taste, so y’all can have this one.

But every West Indian knows to accept things as they are…

…even though pickled pig feet and ears is kind of weird.

Just know that the ‘old people’ will not accept this slander.

Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a good cup of sorrel…

…or a slice of black cake, dripping in rum.

Easter didn’t happen if there wasn’t bun n cheese, and you don’t have to be Jamaican to know it.

#WestIndiansAgainstCallaloo? I think not.

But y’all might just be on to something with this one.

Should flags be revoked or na? Let us know in the comments!
