In this day and age media advertising is compared to the California Gold Rush back in the 1800s- everybody from all parts of the world or in this case different industries such as Medical, Law, and Entertainment fields are rushing to grab media advertising dollars and the costs are rising by the second. Media advertising is actually 5x faster than inflation in the US and 71 percent faster than the cost of TV ads (ADI).I will be sharing current media trends as it coincides with digital strategy and the importance of a website to companies and brands.

When it comes to media advertising, nearly .60 cents of every dollar will be spent on TV and Digital ads (e-marketing). Google Ads and Facebook Ads are the two advertising forms that will dominate the digital ad space with a combined share of 57.6 percent (more than half according to Visual Capitalist). So when is comes to allocating your digital advertising budget, Facebook and Google Ads are great platforms to invest in. However, small businesses and advertisers should take note that “ pop-up ads “ and “banners" are officially dead and ad blockers are becoming a trend, increasing 30 percent from last year. So when it comes to using Google Ads those may not be the best digital marketing strategies to implement and I strongly recommend that Google AdWords would be the most beneficial.
Google Adwords works like this: Advertisers have the chance to bid on certain keywords in order for their clickable ads to appear in Google's search results and since advertisers have to pay for these clicks, this is how Google makes revenue from search. Furthermore, the effectiveness of Google Adwords is measured depending on the competitiveness of the keywords you're bidding for and the relevancy of that keyword to real conversions for your company, AdWords may or may not work for your business; but for the most part, we've found that Google AdWords is extremely effective for many kinds of businesses, as long as they don't waste their money on the wrong keywords etc, in other words, having a highly functioning mobile website is always key to staring a successful business .
The Importance of a High Functioning Mobile Friendly Website
When it comes time for companies to allocate digital marketing strategies as a means to increase revenue, a high functioning mobile site is essential, specifically the landing page. The landing page is the most important part of a website; it should always be clear, concise and fast. Hence, the primary function of the landing page is to convert visitors to sales and leads. A delay of one second in landing page response time can result in a 7% drop in conversions, mobile users simply don't have the time nor patience to wait for your page to load. The goal is to attract visitors to your website in hopes of engagement. The more engagement, the more revenue.
In fact, 61% percent of mobile users are unlikely to return to a mobile website they had trouble accessing and 40% percent will visit a competitor instead, therefore, companies should invest in coding and web design.
Content is Key
The second major key component in digital marketing and generating revenue is content. Content is key and more companies are hiring writers and influencers to curate blog and social media posts for them. Companies who published on average of 16 posts monthly are more likey to generate more traffic and user activity than companies who don’t. On the other hand, long-form blog posts (1000 words) generate 9x more leads than short-form posts. This is where native advertising comes in, where companies would reach out to social media influencers to curate content for the company. According to Hubspot, native ads are viewed 53 percent more than banner ads. Visual content is another factor to attract visitors to your website, high-resolution pictures and 4k videos are so necessary, the more unique and creative content are being curated, the more visitors. The goal is the to create an experience for users from social media to the company's website.
Social Media
A company’s website would not be completed if the company's social media accounts are not linked directly to the website, it is a must, that your company/brand accounts all match. I recommend that Facebook and Instagram should be the main focus when it comes to promoting your business on social media. To attract more visitors to your website, social media is a major piece to the digital marketing puzzle. According to Nielson Data, that GEN X ( ages 35-49) spends the most time on social media; an average of 6 hours and 58 minutes per week, millennials (18-35) came in second , spending on an average 6 hours and 19 minutes of their time a week on social networks with Facebook being the giant of social media platforms with over a 1 billion active monthly users.
Another important note is that mobile users from the ages 18-34 are most likely follow a brand on social media. Thus it's important for your page to look great. Visuals are key.
Did you know that image posts on Facebook 179% more interactions ( likes, comments, Shares ) than an average post. Post ending with a question get 162 % more interactions ( Facebook)
For the past 3 years, social media has changed the way people receive the news, three years ago people were watching their daily Morning news show to receive the news. Social media even has a strong influence over today's consumer; about 67 percent of consumers are influenced by reading social media reviews and online comments. Therefore, companies should use a social media a channel for customer service as well.
In today’s age, digital marketing is so important to companies and brands in any industry. With the right digital marketing strategy and budget, I can guarantee your business will generate revenue within months using sound digital marketing strategies.
