While the rest of us are sitting here trying to decide between paying rent or On The Run II tickets, Tyler Perry got into a $20,000 bidding war with Blue Ivy Carter this week.

Perry paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live! and hilariously described how he and Blue fought for a painting.

It all went down at the Wearable Art Gala, an event that supports the WACO Theater, which is owned by Blue Ivy’s grandparents, Tina Knowles and Richard Lawson.

“I was really, really excited to be there and there was this art that came out for auction," Perry said. "It's this beautiful painting of Sidney Poitier and I'm like, 'I've got to have that.'"

He lifted his paddle to bid on the piece and discovered that Beyonce’s baby heir also had her eyes on the painting.

“I said, 'Oh, I'm gonna teach you a lesson today! She keeps going up and up and up with [the paddle],” he continued.

Undeterred, Perry was up for the challenge, even if it was from a six-year-old girl.

“But for me I'm thinking it's charity, it's a good cause and I'm not letting this kid take this painting from me,” he continued. “I'm gonna teach you now little girl! You're not gonna get everything you want!’”

Thankfully, Blue’s dad, JAY-Z, eventually took the paddle away, and Perry was able to snag the painting for $20,000. Blue Ivy had to settle for another painting that cost a paltry $10,000.
