'BLACK PANTHER 3' RELEASE DATE: WHAT WE KNOW

By emma hynes

After the success of the first two Black Panther films, Marvel Studios confirmed a third was in the works in December 2024. Nate Moore will return as producer for the next chapter in the franchise.

"With the success of Wakanda Forever, we’re excited to keep exploring the rich, emotional world of Wakanda and how it evolves in the next phase of the MCU."  -Nate Moore

An exact release date has yet to be announced, but we know that as of April 2025, the movie has been in development.

Speculation about the highly anticipated project's arrival has pointed to a November 2026 release.

This would place the movie's debut between the release of two new Avengers movies.

In November, director Ryan Coogler shared that he was crafting a role specifically for Denzel Washington in the upcoming film. When asked how long fans would have to wait for the film, he replied, “Not long.”

"I’ve been dying to work with Denzel. I’m hoping we can make that happen. I’ve got every intention of working with him."  - Ryan Coogler

Who else is in the cast?

Letitia Wright is expected to return as Shuri, along with Lupita Nyong'o and Dominique Thorne, although none have been confirmed as of yet.

Marvel Studios opted not to recast T'Challa after Chadwick Boseman's passing, though rumors hint at his return as an alternate-reality version of the character.

In preparation for the upcoming film, you can watch the first two movies with a Disney+ subscription. Additionally, they're available on Amazon Prime to rent or buy.
