A woman who makes a cameo in the Kanye West Netflix documentary, jeen-yuhs, is suing the streamer and filmmakers, claiming her appearance exposed her past and forced her to relive hard times.

According to TMZ, Cynthia Love filed the suit on Monday. It also named Coodie Simmons and Chike Ozah, the filmmakers responsible for jeen-yuhs, as defendants.

Love, who originally appeared in the music video for “Through the Wire,” West’s debut single in 2003, claims Simmons and Ozah exploited her with the documentary’s release.

Love dances in a restaurant in the video for “Through the Wire.” She said she received only $20 for her work. The documentary includes an extended version of her cameo, and Love is unhappy about appearing in jeen-yuhs.

She said she was on drugs during the music video’s filming and unable to provide “consent” due to her “altered state.” In the suit, she argues the moment represents a time in her life she’d like to move past.

Love also notes she’s been sober for nearly 18 years and has had several long-term jobs. As a result, she said she’s repaired relationships with family and friends and feels like a different person than she was in 2003.

The lawsuit notes Coodie allegedly communicated with Love’s son via text message. In one, he told him he assumed Love was dead, and that’s why he didn’t pursue reaching out to her directly before the film’s premiere.

Love said seeing the footage has caused her emotional distress and is detrimental to her reputation.

The suit also mentions Coodie and Chike’s $30 million payday for jeen-yuhs. She’s seeking a minimum of $30,000 in damages.
