Finally, we have approached our favorite month of the year, after what felt like 10 weeks of January.

February is Black history month, which is the designated time for everyone to honor our ancestors, even though we do that 365 days a year. Here are a few moments we're anticipating this month:

1. "Black Panther"

After the movie premiere earlier this week, the thirst to see Marvel's "Black Panther" has gone through the roof. We can't wait for release day to see all that black excellence on the big screen? Can't nobody tell us a thing.

2. All-black everything.

Wearing all black everything all month long just because we can. For 28 days straight, everyone is going to get this unapologetic blackness.

3. All-Star Weekend.

All-Star weekend is filled with black excellence. From the dunk contest to the all-star game, black boy joy will be in full effect. The best part is you never know what celebrities will pop up.

4. Eating All The Greens, Beans, Tomatoes, Potatoes. . .

Most of us have started a new year resolution that includes health eating, but come on. We have to eat all the down home cooking we can this month — to honor the ancestors.

5. Bragging about Blackness.

Black people are culture. This has proven to be true time and time again. We have made society what it is through science, technology, art, music, food, and more. You can pretend like you don't know, but you can count on us to remind you of all the contributions black people have made to society–every chance we get

6. Tuning in to Black History events

The #BlackHistoryMonth tag on Twitter is loaded with events happening from Los Angeles to New York, and everywhere in between. The best way to celebrate blackness is with each other. Find out what's going in your city!

7. BET Black Movie Classics

Trust. They will be on repeat all month. From Spike Lee's joints "Malcolm X" to "Crooklyn," black television networks will hold us down with the classics.

8. Holding out for #OscarsSoBlack

Black actors and actresses featured in "Get Out", "Mudbound" and "The Shape of Water" are up for awards. We're here waiting to see if the academy is ready to shed their #OscarsSoWhite reputation.

9. Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras is about drinking, partying and parading along on Bourbon Street–lets not forget the beads also known as throws. However, it's also an amazing showcase of diversity of black culture. If you've ever been to New Orleans at the peak of Mardi Gras, then you know the eruption of culture and energy is unmatched.

10. Showcase of black love on Valentine's Day

Black love is alive and well. Even if you haven't found that special someone, black friendship & black family love is just as good — and we show out.

11. Black Twitter's hashtags and trending topics

Black people have already had Twitter users dying with laughter over the #Tweetlike1600s hashtag, and that was just for January. Just know we're coming with the straight fire hashtags all February.
