In the new year, most of us will undoubtedly seek to be more relaxed and stress free. There's a Buddhist saying that, "Peace comes from within, do not seek it without." While that's easier said than done, 2019 definitely left us with some great examples of successful folk putting this saying into practice. We could probably all learn a thing or two from these unbothered celebrities.

1. Omarion: When In The Face Of Betrayal, Talk Less And Do More

Omarion, Omarion, Omarion. I've never been a baby father—or a baby mother, for that matter— but I imagine it could potentially be stressful. I can also imagine that stress level considerably maximized,  if my former partner, and co-parent, publicly gallivanted with my childhood best friend and bandmate.

It appears Omarion isn't like most of us, though, because what we've witnessed from him, is a master class in unbotheredness. When Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood  revealed that the mother of his two children, Apryl Jones, and his bandmate Lil' Fizz had started an intimate relationship, Omarion didn’t seem to care

Turns out, Omarion had a spade up his sleeve because he renegotiated the upcoming Millennium Tour to feature himself as the headliner — unceremoniously booting B2K off the tour. Checkmate.

2. Cassie: It’s Never Too Late To Start Over. The Glow Up Can Happen At Any Moment

Cassie came on the scene in 2006 with her infectious hit song Me & U. A former protegé of multi-talented industry veteran Ryan Leslie, Cassie was almost immediately coupled with entertainment tycoon Sean "Diddy" Combs — a man 17 years her senior. What transpired was an on-and-off again relationship played out on the internet and in the gossip blogs spanning over 10 years. Many wondered if young Cassandra would ever get the stability, or engagement ring, many thought she might desire.

The relationship officially ended after the tragic, unexpected death of Diddy's former partner and model, Kim Porter. Cassie remained a friend publicly appearing by Diddy's side as he espoused how Porter was his soul mate. In a commendable spectacle of moving on, Cassie re-emerged with personal trainer Alex Fine, became engaged, married and welcomed a beautiful baby girl in December.

Diddy publicly congratulated the newly wedded Mrs. Fine. She has yet to make a public response.

3. Lizzo: When The Haters Hate, Shake 'Em Off While Shaking Your Ass

There's been a lot of talk, love and some criticism surrounding pop sensation Lizzo. The singer, performer and flutist has been nominated for eight Grammys, appeared in acclaimed films and slayed stages all year. Yet, somehow it's her body positive image and carefree spirit that really has some folks’ shorts in a bunch.

Still, Lizzo seems to just brush the negative comments aside like bangs. She's quick to let folks know that considering her "brave" for loving her body is a condescending double standard and she won’t have any of that.

"When people look at my body and be like, 'Oh my God, she's so brave,' it's like, 'No, I'm not,' I'm just fine. I'm just me. I'm just sexy," the “Truth Hurts” singer told Glamour.

4. Rihanna: It Always Pays To Mind Your Business

While the world awaits Rihanna’s next onslaught of No.1 hits, in the form of a new album, the pop icon has been busy—minding her business. Though her last offering was 2016's Anti , Forbes named the singer turned cosmetic and fashion entrepreneur the world’s wealthiest female musician in 2019.

The elusive chanteuse was last seen on her instagram stories dancing with the British Fashion Award she won for Fenty. Get money RiRi.

5. Dwyane Wade: Family Is Everything

Dwyane Wade is a three-time NBA champion and husband. But it was his inclusive and supportive child rearing that took center stage in 2019.

Wade’s 12-year-old,  Zion, has been open and visible about their LGBTQ status after appearing at a Miami's Pride parade with stepmom Gabrielle Union. The jovial revelation was almost immediately met with backlash, but that hasn't stopped Wade from continuing to showcase and shower his family with love and affection.

As if we couldn't love that enough, he recently appeared on Showtime’s Basketball video podcast All The Smoke with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson and dropped major jewels about supporting his son while occasionally and subtly using female pronouns to address Zion.

“I had to look myself in the mirror and say ‘what if your son comes home and tells you he’s gay, what are you going to do? How are you going to be? How are you going to act? It ain’t about him, he knows who he is, it’s about you. How are you’” Wade reflected.

A Black father professing his responsibility to love and support his children while educating himself should they not fit into a familiar box, while paying haters dust? Obsessed.
