A Georgia woman really thought she was onto something when she snapped a photo of a sleeping McDonald's employee and angrily posted the image to Facebook chastising the individual. Little did she know that it would generate a plethora of support and financial contributions.

"I was in the McDonald’s in the middle of town and I saw this guy sleeping in the booth," the post, written in a private group, read. "I go and tell an employee that someone is asleep in their booth and her response was 'oh yeah, we know hee hee, it's ok' and I said 'not really but whatever.'"

WSB-TV in Atlanta identified the man as Simon Childs, a 21-year-old who had recently lost his mother and is raising his newborn son.

"Everything I do, I want to work for it," Childs said to WSB-TV's Matt Johnson Monday. The employee admits he was "hurt" when he saw the embarrassing photo of him sleeping for all to see.

"It kind of hurt to see my picture up there, you know? I thought it was something negative and nobody would care about it."

Thankfully, he was wrong. Upon returning to work at the fast food giant, Childs was met with donations of clothing, diapers and supplies for him and his son.

Childs' story caught the attention of the owners of Fusion Chefs Eatery in Fayetteville, Georgia, who lent the gentleman a vehicle so that he may drive to job interviews.

"It definitely will help him get around and give him a better opportunity," Chef Theo Thomas said to WSB-TV.

Since Childs' interview with the news station, more community members have stepped up to lend a hand, including a local barber giving the young father a free haircut to boost his confidence in job interviews.

As for the unidentified woman who first posted the photo, she tells WSB-TV that her motive was not to shame anyone, but instead post the image to her private Facebook group.
