Dennis Rodman is praising Donald Trump for meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
The former NBA baller broke down during an interview with CNN as he described the trouble that followed him after he started visiting North Korea in 2013.
"When I went back home, I got so many death threats," Rodman said through his tears. "And I believed in North Korea, and I couldn't even go home. I couldn't even go home, for thirty days. But I kept my head up."
Rodman says he tried to engage President Obama about North Korea, but he "didn't even give me the time of day — he just brushed me off, but that didn't deter me."
He praised Donald Trump’s willingness to take the meeting.
"Everything else should be in Donald Trump's hands and people in the White House's hands,” Rodman said. “I'm out of it. I'm so happy just to be here, man, and see everyone in the world get emotional like I did. Donald Trump should take a lot of credit because he went out of the box and made this happen."
Rodman said one of Trump’s secretaries called him to say "Donald Trump is so proud of you, he says thank you."
