The suspect in a series of bombing attacks in Austin that has killed two people and injured several others this month reportedly killed himself as the SWAT team closed in, police said early Wednesday morning according to the Los Angeles Times

In a news conference captured by CNN,  Austin Police Chief Brian Manley said the department had tracked the suspect they felt "confident" was responsible for the bombing incidents.

"We ultimately located the vehicle that this suspect was known to be driving, and witnesses told us he was driving, and in fact we found that at a hotel right up the road here in Round Rock," he said.

He later added, "As members of the Police Department SWAT team approached the vehicle, the suspect detonated a bomb inside the vehicle, knocking one of our SWAT officers back and one of our SWAT officers fired at the suspect as well."

The suspect is a 24-year-old white man, according to CNN. Authorities don't yet know whether he acted alone or what his motives were. This again shows the danger armed white men present.
