The story of politicians running for office tends to always be the same — they preach that they are “for the people” and yet they always have some sort of ties to money and hidden agendas.

That’s how big money in politics tends to work; politicians frequently support and represent the agendas of those who donate large sums of money to their campaigns. And sometimes, in the process, what’s good for the people gets lost along the way.

This is what makes Bernie Sanders different from most candidates. He doesn’t fall under the cliche of the “politician funded by big money who we might not be able to fully trust.”

When comparing Bernie Sanders to his main competition, Hillary Clinton, we can blatantly see who’s fully supported by “the people” and not banks and big money.

So why is this important?

The fact the Sanders is funded not by companies but by organizations with commendable causes shows that he is trusted by those who stand by everyday citizens like us. Also, a majority of Bernie’s funds come from donations of $250 or less. Meaning Bernie isn’t funded by the absurdly rich one percent. He’s funded by the people.

Even though Bernie is still behind Hillary’s whopping $47.5 million campaign, he has raised more money than any other Republican candidate, raking in about $15.2 million. So the people seem to support Bernie. Do you?
