As Marvel's Black Panther continues to clean up at the box office, fans far and wide have taken to the internet to demand more of the glorious world of Wakanda.

Superfan Eric Hamilton started a petition that does just that. He wants a Netflix series that takes fans back to the early days of the reclusive kingdom.

In the record-breaking film, Wakanda is an Afrofuturistic nation with the world's most advanced technology. Because the nation was never colonized by European powers, it remained wealthy due to its large vibranium deposits. Throughout history, the nation has been protected by a king who dons the Black Panther mantle.

For Hamilton, the film gave black audience members a chance to see well-rounded characters that are not usually seen in media. By using other recent Marvel Netflix shows as a barometer, Hamilton showed that the streaming site has a great track record at adapting Marvel properties.

"Telling the back story of Wakanda would be a game changer. How did Wakanda become the most technologically advanced country on Earth?" he asked. "From the technology to the artistry coupled with the rich African traditions, the fans demand more. The Black Panther fanbase would love to see a Wakanda series on Netflix. This series would expand the depth of the Marvel universe and we feel Marvel/Disney would enjoy creating and adapting these stories as much as we would love watching them."

The petition has picked up major steam. According to the site, there are 1300 people onboard and counting. In a matter of hours, the 1500 signature goal can be met and exceeded.

And with the hashtag #WakandaSeries, other enthusiastic fans are already sharing and spreading the idea of a series across the net.
