You’ve seen this foolishness by now. Bill O’Reilly playing the heel for the thousandth time on Fox & Friends.

Here’s the clip if you need a refresher:

And now, old man O’Reilly’s released an apology. In fact, his team even sent a copy directly to Blavity.

You see, beautiful Blavity reader, O’Reilly wants black people to know that he’s sorry. That he may even be in the running now to beat Trump as “the least racist person.” And maybe even that he loves James Brown, and remembers fondly the time his one black friend played “Super Bad” for him.

O’Reilly was supposed to be responding to comments Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) made defending criticism of Donald Trump as patriotic. “We stand up for America, often times when others who think they are more patriotic, who say they are more patriotic, do not,” Water said.

Unfortunately, this wasn’t the first time Waters was attacked on the network. In 2010, a Fox News anchor told Waters to “step away from the crack pipe,” telling her that she should learn from “what happened to Whitney Houston.”

Fortunately, Waters seems above engaging with this sort of nonsense.

But O’Reilly, without the people’s work to keep him busy, is sadly not. How many days do you think we’ll go before we watch this same story unfold with another Fox personality?
