Right-winged, political commentator Candace Owens is back in the news again for accusing Amazon of damaging copies of her newly released book The Blackout before shipping them out.

Owens tweeted on Saturday that Amazon employees were stomping and smearing Vaseline on the books and shared pictures of the copies with apparent marks on them.

She also wrote that roughly 1,000 people wrote her to corroborate the claim.

Some people replied to her tweet, saying their books came in the mail damaged, too.

Another follower tweeted his love of the book and encouraged folks to buy it digitally to avoid the greasy mess.

Someone else accused the super retailer of “book blocking,” after Amazon required a signature to get their copy of the novel.

Earlier this month, Owens rode the coattails of LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva after he called on LeBron James to contribute to the financial reward for a man accused of shooting two LA County Sheriff's Department deputies.

“Why does this happen? Because pea-brained celebrities that are idolized like @KingJames tell young black men that they are ‘literally being hunted,'" she wrote of the shooting. "This is the natural result of such hyperbolic, dishonest rhetoric. The racist, anti-police, black lives matter LIE is to blame.”

Because of Owens’ conservative and often off-putting views, comedian Dave Chappelle and even her own political party have targeted the outspoken author.

“I can’t think of a worse way to make money. She is the most articulate idiot I’ve ever seen in my f**king life. She’s so articulate she can tell you how f**king stupid she is precisely,” Chappelle said of Owens back in June, as Blavity previously reported.
