A black motorist pulled over in a routine traffic stop? Check.
The black motorist is arrested for reasons unknown? Check.
A white officer uses unnecessary force on the civilian during the arrest? Check.
The officer uses the excuse that the arrestee was resisting? What are we missing?
The footage from eyewitnesses was shared with the public but it does not hold up in the case as viable evidence? Maybe not this time.
Or we can only hope.
The Associated Press reports that the case in which Richard Hubbard III, a black man who was arrested and abused by white police in a video on Saturday, will be reviewed thoroughly by the Mayor of Euclid, Ohio.
Mayor Kirsten Gail attended a community relations task force meeting on Monday where she was met by angry protesters who demanded answers regarding the police mistreatment of non-white residents. In her statement, Gail mentioned how the incident has raised "serious concerns".
In the viral video uploaded to Facebook and Instagram by Leshaunda Moore shown below, Hubbard III, 25, is seen being violently pinned to the ground and punched in the head by the officers.

The police claimed that Hubbard III ignored their instructions for him to get to the ground, but per the video, Hubbard III appeared to not have had enough time for the orders to register by the time a cop forced him to the pavement and struck him with his fist multiple times.
Gail also vowed that officials will take "appropriate actions after reviewing" the case.
We, Hubbard III, and the city of Euclid will hold her to it.
