A man who proposed with five different engagement ring options has caused quite a stir on social media, with some people approving the gesture and others seeing it as an unrealistic precedent.

"She Said Yes! Asked my best friend to spend the rest of our days together! & gave her 5 different options to choose from!" the man wrote on Instagram. "@mz_miller I thought I knew what love was till you came into my life. Can't wait to see all the blessings that God has in store for us."

In one of the photos, the man is seen on one knee while holding five different engagement rings. Another photo shows his fiancée wearing all five rings.

"I SAID YES!!!! He proposed with not just one…. but FIVE rings. I had options," the woman said. "@ichillwillfixit went above and beyond to make this day one that we'll never forget. William, you are truly a blessing. You're my best friend, fiancé, soon to be husband and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you."

The debate then raged as the post went viral across multiple social media platforms.

"This is so cute," one Twitter user wrote. "He proposed with five rings for her to make a choice."

While some agreed with the Twitter user, others refused to see it as heartwarming. Rather, they saw the gesture as the man's inability to truly know his future wife.

One person said the proposal proves the man's indecisiveness.

Some predicted that the marriage will end in tragedy.

Others took the opportunity to crack some jokes.

Some people thought the gesture wasn't enough.

The couple's supporters responded with strong statements as the critics continued to chirp.

Other Twitter users simply wanted the couple to enjoy their moment in peace.

The couple, identified as William and Britney Miller, was on CBS This Morning discussing their proposal.

"William, you are truly a blessing," CBS anchor Gayle King said. "It was very creative. To me, it sounds like that marriage is off to a very good start."

According to Newsweek, a man named Dennis Brown II pulled off a similar act in 2018 when he proposed to his girlfriend, Atara Dallas.

"I won at life with her, so she deserves six rings to choose from," Brown said at the time.
