Drake and SZA have teamed up to release a spicy new track. Shortly after teasing their collaboration on social media, the duo released their single, “Slime You Out,” on Friday. In his Ingram post on Thursday, Drake tagged SZA in a photo of Halle Berry covered in green slime at the 2012 Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards. As fans guessed the meaning of the post, SZA also shared the image and made it more clear that the duo had a collaboration set to be released.

Drake and SZA previously revealed that they have a close history. Fans learned about the pair’s dating history after hearing Drake’s lyrics on 21 Savage’s “Mr. Right Now” track.

“Yeah, said she wanna f**k to some SZA, wait / ‘Cause I used to date SZA back in ’08,” the Canadian artist rapped in the 2020 song.

SZA confirmed the rumor when she responded on social media.

“So it was actually 2009,” she tweeted in 2020. “In this case a year of poetic rap license mattered lol I think he jus innocently rhymed 08 w wait . Anybody who really knows me and was around during this time can confirm.. it’s all love all peace.”

 

The “Slime You Out” track fittingly features lyrics like “I’m slimin’ you for them kid choices you made.” The duo also take some shots at each other in the song.

“You ain’t ’bout the s**t you rappin’ about,” SZA sings.

Drake then fires back.

“Sayin’ that I’m too guarded ’bout my feelings, who the f**k even asked you?” he responds.

“Slime You Out” will be featured in Drake’s eighth studio album, For All the Dogs. The project which will be released on Sept. 22 according to Variety. The 36-year-old artist got his fans hyped when he recently revealed that he would release a song before the album comes out.

“I know y’all excited to hear the album,” he said. “I know it’s, like two weeks out. I’m a drop a song for y’all this week. Yeah, yeah. What a time, what a time.”

Drake’s managerial team said “he has been working on this album for a while.”

“As soon as he dropped Her Loss, he just kind of kept recording, and we’re waiting for him to finish the work,” the team told Variety. “The songs I’ve heard are incredible — and obviously, from a managerial standpoint, it’s a uniquely incredible experience to work with an artist that can be on a tour of this size and still hype the fans up even more by telling them there’s another project on the way.”
