Last night's episode of
Empire was nothing short of jaw-dropping. If you haven't watched the record-breaking series since it's mid-season return, you might just want to queue up some episodes on Hulu or FOX because things are out of control

*Consider this your spoiler alert.*

Drama consumed the episode from the beginning, but the moment that lit Twitter on fire is when Frida Gatz shot Jamal.

Here's how it happened. Cookie's sister made a scene at the ASA Awards and Frida wouldn't help her get in. In a rage she yelled, "You wouldn't even be here if Luscious didn't feel guilty about what he did to your daddy," and it took Frida merely seconds to figure out that Luscious killed her father. Frida pulled a gun on Luscious and Jamal jumped in the way to stop her. The off-screen action is what really caught our attention

Jamal (Jussie Smollet) decided to play with our hearts on Twitter.

The worst part is, we don't even know if he's telling the truth.

Will we even be able to survive Wednesday nights without Jamal?

Guess we'll just have to wait to next week to find out...
