Paris-based sales company mk2 has boarded New York-based director Danielle Lessovitz’s feature debut “Port Authority,” representing world sales for the film at the ongoing Cannes Film Market.

The Bronx-set “tragic love story,” as it’s described centers on Paul, a teenager living in a youth shelter in NYC, where he meets Wye, a member of the “ball community” who expresses herself through “voguing”. When Paul discovers that Wye was born a boy, he struggles with that truth as their love for each other blossoms.

The $2 million production is set to begin filming this fall.

 

The deal world sales deal was negotiated between mk2 films and the film’s lead producer Madeleine Films.

Netherlands’ Keplerfilm is co-producer.
