Gwen Carr, the mother of Eric Garner, is calling out local officials for dragging their feet in taking disciplinary action against Officer Daniel Pantaleo, who killed Garner by chokehold.

According to the New York Daily News, the Civilian Complaint Review Board has recommended that the New York Police Department give Pantaleo the severest punishments it can. The Review Board has no power to issue any punishments itself.

Instead, the NYPD, the mayor or the DOJ have to act.

None of those parties seem inclined to make any decisions regarding Pantaleo, however.

"I thought I would have gotten justice a long time ago. But as of now, they're still stringing us along. So that's why we are asking, we are begging, the mayor to please go forward with this, and the police department," Carr said.

Though Garner's family has received a $4 million payout by a Staten Island judge, the life of the son, husband and father cannot be replaced with money. While it is a start, Carr's mother demands justice.

Pantaleo not only has not been disciplined for using a banned chokehold on Garner, but remains behind a desk in a lucrative position with the NYPD.

Pantaleo, per reports, has earned about $40,000 in overtime during his first two years in his new desk job.

"He's getting rewarded for killing my son is what I feel," Carr said.

Though her son was murdered three years ago, during Obama's presidency, Carr says that Trump being in office should not change the fact that justice must be served.

"I feel no matter who the President is or who the attorney general is, we still live in America, and we still should get justice," she said.
