When she's not convincing a horde of complete strangers to share their deepest secrets on Instagram, R&B songstress Jazmine Sullivan is gracing the ears of millions with hits like "Pick Up Your Feelings," "Bust Your Windows" and "Let it Burn."
As her career was just getting started, Sullivan announced in January 2011 that she was "taking a break" from music. During promotion for her fourth project, Heaux Tales, Sullivan revealed she exited the music industry because of trauma she endured from being in an abusive relationship.
Several years later, Sullivan has found love in Dave Watson.
A musician and producer, the couple is notoriously private, save for a few flirty comments on each other's social media posts. There isn't too much information available about Watson, but enough to deduce he's quite an important individual in her life.
Scroll on for everything we know about Sullivan's longtime beau.
The duo has been together for several years
Sullivan and Watson have been dating since 2017, according to the LA Times. Sullivan and Watson even collaborated on "Lost One," a track from Heaux Tales about a woman taking responsibility for a failing relationship. Watson is a musician by trade as well, so it makes sense the two connected via a shared love of soul and developed a track seemingly relatable to millions across the country.

"You don't have to make up a way to present yourself. Whatever valleys and dips that you've gone through in life, you deserve to have grace," she said of the song.
Sullivan first went public with their union in 2017
In 2017, the Philadelphia native wrote a heartwarming tribute to her man on Instagram. The post is now deleted, but Essence caught hold of the message.
"Haven't been able to separate since our first date. We didn't know what 'this' was, but we knew we didn't wanna let it go! Then U took this beat-up … heart and made it feel brand new again…So thank u! Thank u for being u! For loving and respecting me daily," she shared. "U ain't always rt, but ur just rt for ME! So Hbd.. can't wait to spend all of them looking at u the same way! Love u with all my heart baby!"
She personally thanked him after winning a BET Award this summer
Though couple photos are nowhere to be found on their Instagram pages, there's no shortage of constant, mutual recognition. After winning a BET Award in June, Sullivan credited Watson for "encouraging me every time I wanna give up."
"And for helping to create the beautiful LOST ONES. I love you!" she added.
The 34-year-old admits they "moved fast"
In another feature with Vulture ahead of the release of Heaux Tales, Sullivan admitted she and Watson "moved fast, but that's not necessarily a bad thing," since they were both approaching it with serious intentions.
"But we were probably just on the same page," the songstress shared. "We don’t mind talking things out. We know we don’t know everything, and that’s where a good relationship starts. You’re open to learning."
"If I choose, I can write about heartaches because I could just pull from the many heartaches I’ve had in my life."
The Grammy-nominated crooner also briefly touched on the loneliness she felt early on in her success while in an abusive relationship.
"I never could have imagined I would end up in an abusive relationship, allowing that while I’m literally doing huge shows and blowing up. I never want to be that girl again, and I don’t want anybody to experience that."
Sullivan's come a long way, and Watson is right there beside her.
