Flau’jae Johnson released the cover art and first single for her upcoming debut album, Best of Both Worlds, which is set for a June 28 release. The album cover illustrates the two worlds the LSU player lives in. It is a colorful photo that features her looking up toward the sky at two planets, which are designed to showcase a basketball planet and a musical planet.

“I am so excited to let y’all into my world, juggling music and basketball hasn’t been the easiest journey for me, but it has definitely been the most rewarding. I love you all,” she wrote on Instagram. “This Project is gonna Change My Life and I can’t wait to experience this journey with you y’all on June 28th. But for now I dropped ‘Pop It’ which is on the project so y’all can have something to listen to until it drops!! it’s out on ALL platforms and you might see a little surprise on the project when you go stream pop it.”

Although Johnson is new to the rap game, she is supported by Lil Wayne and many others. Her previous television appearances include America’s Got Talent and Lifetime’s The Rap Game. It’s no surprise that she has a distribution deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.

Music runs in her family — her late father known as a Georgia rapper named Jason Johnson, a.k.a. Camoflauge. As a result of her father’s death just six months before she was born, Flau’jae never met him. As Johnson told Blavity U in 2023, she’s hoping to continue to build her legacy, which includes music and basketball.

“I want my music to chart. I wanna go perform. I wanted to get millions of streams and things like that. I think that’s the next big goal for me,” she said. “And I want a Grammy! Some kind of award really, but a Grammy, for sure.”

She also spoke about being influenced by her father musically, explaining how her father “inspired me to go hard every day.”

She added, “And I love his music, I love the legacy he built and I wanna continue to build it and build my own legacy as well.”
