Police have arrested a white man accused of attacking a Black man with his car and yelling slurs at him because the man looked at him the wrong way, according to local news outlet NBC2. 

Stephen Wieczkowski is currently being held in Lee County Jail after police said he followed a Black man home in his car, tried to run him over and yelled the N-word at him. 

The victim said Wieczkowski was angry and asked him why he was looking at him, while they were both were at a gas station in North Fort Myers, Florida. The man repeatedly asked Wieczkowski to leave him alone. 

The victim drove home to the Windrush Apartments complex off of Pondella Road but Wieczkowski followed him in his car, according to the police report. 

When the man arrived and got out, Wieczkowski also got out of his car and yelled the N-word at him. The 26-year-old tried to punch the Black man but missed, and eventually ripped off the man’s side mirror, according to Wink News. 

Wieczkowski then shattered the back window on the man’s car before getting back in his own car and trying to run over the victim. Wieczkowski crashed into the man’s car but kept driving. 

Police said Wieczkowski then drove around the neighborhood trying to attack people before taking off his shirt and shoes. He got out of his car and attacked another person on the street, pulling down a yellow Kawasaki motorcycle.

The man was able to take a photo of Wieczkowski's license plate before police arrived, according to Atlanta Black Star.

He was eventually arrested and charged with aggravated assault and two counts of damaging property to the Lee County Sheriff's Office. 

NBC2 reported that the man said he did not know who Wieczkowski was before the incident.

Wieczkowski‘s first court date for the charges is March 3, and he’s being held on $35,000 bond.
