A video circulated on social media showing former NFL player Zachary "Zac" Stacy allegedly physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Kristin Evans. 

Stacy, 30, had the intention of turning himself in and was arrested by Orlando police, reports TMZ.

On Saturday around 2 p.m., Evans' home surveillance video shows Stacy punching and hurling the woman into a flat-screen TV in the presence of their 5-month-old son, the New York Post reports. Evans is heard pleading with Stacy to stop, but he continues, picking her up and flinging her around the apartment. 

He later drags Evans from her sofa and punches her repeatedly. After the attack, the former New York Jets running back says "I love you" to their son before leaving the apartment, according to TMZ.   

Evans said on social media that the Oakland Police Department in Florida failed to provide adequate protection for her and her child after it took four days for a warrant to be issued. 

"The Oakland PD officers that came to my house didn't seem to think this was a bad enough incident to make an immediate arrest or file for an immediate warrant. It took four days of me calling people and an Orange County officer speaking on my behalf," Evans wrote, according to the New York Post.

Oakland police issued a statement on Thursday, saying that when they arrived at the location, they searched for Stacy but he had already left the scene. The case was sent to the investigations unit to discern if there was a probable cause for the warrant, Fox 5 reports.

Eventually, local and county police sought to apprehend him, but Stacy had already fled Florida. Police officials instructed him to turn himself in and accept the criminal charges. 

Evans also called out the Florida police on social media after she reached out to them several times about her interactions with Stacy.

"The Florida justice system has been failing me. I have filed police reports previously and the State Attorney hasn't picked them up. Other women fall victim to this every day.  Please call to attention to the Florida State Attorney," Evans wrote.

Stacy is now charged with aggravated battery and criminal mischief. If Stacy is found guilty on these counts, he could spend over 15 years in prison, according to TMZ. 

Evans is using her adverse situation to highlight other victims of domestic abuse. On Thursday, she created a GoFundMe campaign "to raise awareness for domestic violence victims and become an advocate."

"I want to encourage all men and women who have been a victim of domestic violence to reach out to your local domestic violence center for help and I would like to help provide better resources for them," Evans wrote.

Stacy's football career was short-lived — he was recruited by the Jets in 2015 and only played two seasons with the St. Louis Rams. A career-ending ankle injury limited him to play only eight games before leaving the NFL.
