In the wake of Bill Cosby's guilty verdict, Gabrielle Union shared her story to let other survivors know that they are not alone.

Cosby was found guilty Thursday of all charges against Andrea Constand who accused him of sexual misconduct and rape.

The comedian faces up to 10 years in jail on each of the three counts of aggravated indecent assault. Prosecutors used Cosby's past admissions about drugs and sex and other female accusers' testimonies for their argument, Blavity reported. In the past few years, more than 60 women have come forward accusing him of rape and sexual assault.

Union defended many of the victims by revealing her own tragic story. At 19, she was a victim of rape. The man responsible was only caught because he turned himself in.

Rape culture in American society often keeps women from speaking up. Victims are often shamed, ridiculed and many have made claims that these women only want to extort famous men for financial gains. But often times, these women gain nothing by coming forward.

The Me Too movement hopes to change that but there is so much to overcome. In the meantime, Union plans on fighting for those who can't fight for themselves.
