Well-known figures in sports and entertainment are expressing their condolences after learning about the death of legendary boxer and promoter George Foreman. Shortly after Foreman’s death was announced on Friday, tributes came flooding in from celebrities such as Mike Tyson, Scottie Pippen, Magic Johnson and many more.

Tyson raved about Foreman’s legacy as he expressed his condolences.

“Condolences to George Foreman’s family. His contribution to boxing and beyond will never be forgotten,” Tyson said, per the Associated Press.

Several athletes from other sports also paid tribute.

“Rest in peace, George Foreman. Your legacy lives on, champ,” six-time NBA champion Scottie Pippen said.

Hall of Famer Magic Johnson also reflected on some of the best memories he had with Foreman.

“I attended so many of George’s championship fights over his career,” Johnson said. “He was a knockout artist in the ring, and it was a pleasure getting to know him not only as a boxer but as a man. After leaving the ring, he turned into an amazing businessman — I even bought one of the first George Foreman grills!”

Foreman owns one of the most remarkable resumes in the history of boxing. The 76-year-old won Olympic gold in 1968 and earned the heavyweight title twice. Foreman became the oldest champion in the sport’s history when he earned the heavyweight title at ae 45, per the BBC.

After retiring in 1997, the iconic boxer started selling his famous George Foreman Grill.
