Actress Aurora Perrineau, daughter of prolific actor Harold Perrineau of Lost and The Matrix franchise, has accused Girls writer and producer Murray Miller of rape, according to The Wrap

The 23-year-old actress filed a report with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department on Friday, Nov. 17, that states that Miller raped her in 2012 when she was only 17 years old and he was 35 at the time. Since the report, Girls creator and star Lena Dunham has come to Miller's defense despite a damning polygraph test that may prove wrongdoing.

The Wrap reports that Perrineau passed a polygraph test in September 2017 that claims that Miller took advantage of her in his home. She and a few other friends met Miller in the Standard Hotel where she recalled consuming a few drinks. “He was flirting with me. I told him repeatedly that I was 17 years old,” Perrineau said in the statement.

Miller reportedly asked one of the girls for a drive to his home “because he was drunk,” and the girls agreed. Perrineau and the other girls in the group got out of the vehicle and proceeded to his home even though she had reservations.

In her account, it is implied that she blacked out and was unaware of the moments between getting out of the car and the rape.

“At some point, I woke up in Murray’s bed naked. He was on top of me having sexual intercourse with me. At no time did I consent to any sexual contact with Murray,” she said in the statement.

Miller’s attorney, Matthew Walerstein, has come forth to deny all allegations. According to the statement released Friday, there have been allegations claiming that Perrineau's mother, Brittany, demanded money from Miller.

"After being contacted several weeks ago by lawyers who – on Ms. Perrineau’s behalf – sought substantial monetary damages from him, Mr. Miller’s legal team gathered overwhelming evidence directly contradicting these false and offensive claims," the statement read. "Only after her demands for money were rebuffed did Ms. Perrineau go to the police."

Brittany Perrineau denied this accusation stating, “At no time have we ever asked Murray Miller for $1. There was never a demand for money ever made from anyone on behalf of Aurora or our family.”

Despite the pending investigation by LAPD, Dunham and Girls showrunner Jenni Konner released a statement that has strongly sided with Miller.

"… During every time of change, there are also incidences of the culture, in its enthusiasm and zeal, taking down the wrong targets," the statement read. "We believe, having worked closely with him for more than half a decade, that this is the case with Murray Miller. While our first instinct is to listen to every woman’s story, our insider knowledge of Murray’s situation makes us confident that sadly this accusation is one of the 3 percent of assault cases that are misreported every year. "

Dunham has risen to prominence for her feminist views but many claim this statement proves that her feminism is only for white women and not inclusive of women of color.
