Parents know that motivating their kids to do well in school can be tough especially after summer vacation.
But father and daughter rap duo, educator Joel Carter and his 8-year-old daughter and straight A student Dream Carter, have made the perfect song to get those kids who need an extra push some lit motivation.
Carter and his daughter remixed “Rake It Up” by Yo Gotti featuring Nicki Minaj into The Carters’ “Rake It Up,” a song that gets kids to love to work hard and get A's in school.
“My daughter has been extremely excited to get back to school," Joel told The Huffington Post. "She’s looking forward to seeing her old friends and meeting her new teacher.”
Since the song's release, it has received a great reception from fans, blessings from Yo Gotti and Nicki Minaj and over 4.5 million views on Facebook.
The video features enthusiastic kids of various ages doing well-choreographed dances, Joel Carter rapping and near the end, the entire Carter family close out the song.
“For teachers, I hope it inspires them to understand the importance of their job and how they can change the world through their work of inspiring and educating our youth.”
