Star Wars actor John Boyega apparently prefers brown women. The actor made the revelation during a conversation with a fan on Instagram.
"I swear y’all should be a couple," the fan wrote after Boyega posted a photo of himself with co-star Daisy Ridley.
The Star Wars actor wrote back saying, “Lol that’s sis bro! My engaged sis ! Besides my preference is more….erm….. brown.”
Some brown women who read the reply took it as an opportunity to shoot their shot.
"Well then…. hello," one woman wrote.
"Hello hi sir," another person said.
One woman, who supposedly has some creative talents, said, "Hey I'm single and a writer we can make beautiful movies together."
Another brave woman said "Thanks for the clarity. Ready when you are."
Last year, Boyega said it's not more difficult to date while being famous, but it's more complicated.
"There are people reacting to your celebrity a bit, you’ve got to suss that out early on," the 28-year-old said in an interview with the Sunday Times Style magazine. "But I never understood people who say, ‘I can’t be with you because I want to focus on my career.’ What were you focused on before? Why can’t you focus on both?"
The British actor received criticism last year when he commented on the harassment his co-star, Kelly Marie Tran, faced from fans online.
"Being in this position, you just understand the masses, how the masses think, you know. Through social media, we get to engage, we get to have fun. But at the same time, for those who are not mentally strong, you are weak to believe in every single thing that you read," Boyega said in an interview with Variety.
After fans took the comment as an insult to Tran, the actor apologized.
"In no way was I referring to Kelly when I made my comments although the interviewer mentioned her given the topic," he said. "I was really speaking from my own perspective throughout this franchise. Sometimes I’ve felt strong and sometimes I’ve felt weak. Badly worded though. I apologize."
