On Wednesday, California Senator Kamala Harris announced during a town hall in Oakland that she would support the "Medicare for All" bill introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders. "It's not just about what is morally and ethically right, it also makes sense just from a fiscal standpoint," she said. Harris later took to Twitter to echo her support for the bill that would institute a single-payer health insurance system.
I intend to co-sponsor the Medicare for All bill because it’s just the right thing to do.

Sanders has been hard at work whipping up support for his "Medicare for All" bill. According to The Hill, the former presidential candidate said earlier this week, "You're seeing more and more movement toward 'Medicare for All…When the people are saying we need health care for everyone, as more and more Americans come on board, it will become politically possible."
The Vermont Senator took to Twitter on Wednesday to thank Harris for her support.
Thank you @KamalaHarris for your support. Let's make health care a right, not a privilege. https://t.co/hYbxTq8BVH
