Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner warned Philadelphia voters that intimidation at the polls on Election Day will not be tolerated.
“Anybody who thinks it’s time to play militia — F around and find out,” Krasner said on Monday during a press conference Fox 29 reported. “Anybody who thinks it’s time to insult, to mistreat, to threaten people, F around and find out.”
Krasner has been in office since 2017 and expressed “concern” about potential election interference by people working at and near the polls.
“We have a concern that there may be people either working in the polls or close to the polls, who are going to bring frivolous bogus challenges to voters,” Krasner remarked, offering Wisconsin as an example of such interference.
“This is the bottom line,” he said. “Anybody who thinks you’re going to play those games in Philadelphia — you’re going to do it in bad faith, I’ve got no problem with doing it in good faith — but if you do it in bad faith, there is an election court, there are judges, they have orders.”
Fox 29 mentioned that Vets for Trump co-founder Joshua Macias and Antonio LaMotta were arrested outside of the Philadelphia Convention Center, where votes were being counted during the 2020 presidential election, after they were found in possession of weapons and ammunition. According to CNN, they were sentenced to two years of probation and prison time they had served before their sentencing in 2023.
Pennsylvania has always played a pivotal role in the presidential election, with the state’s 19 Electoral College votes often determining a presidency. Both former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris spent their last days on the campaign trail in Pennsylvania.
