Leslie Jones has candid thoughts about Boston’s Martin Luther King Jr. statue. On Tuesday, the comedian expressed her mind when she debuted as a guest host of The Daily Show. 

Jones said the 20-foot bronze statue, which confused many people when it was unveiled on Monday, appears sexual, the Decider reports.

“Has anyone in here ever been eaten out?” Jones asked the audience as she reflected on the statue.

After some shameless audience members responded in the affirmative, Jones explained how the statue appeared to be dedicated to them.

“They’re celebrating you in Boston right now,” the 55-year-old said, referring to the statue’s sexual resemblance. “I know Dr. King went down in history, but this is not how you show it.”

Although it’s difficult to see at first glance, the statue is inspired by a photo of Dr. King hugging his wife, Coretta Scott King, after he won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964.

Many social media users were confused when they first saw images of the statue. However, some people understood the monument after seeing photos from different angles.

Jones told viewers that “only Black people” can joke about the statue. The comedian instructed others to “sit yourself in the back of the bus for this one.”

“This is our civil rights icon…. going down on his wife. You show some damn respect,” she said.

Comedian Dulcé Sloan also joined Jones on Tuesday to roast the monument.  Sloan said the statue looks like “hands cradling a big penis, like a bronze dildo that got left out in the sun.”

“No matter which way you look at it, it looks like a different sexual act,” she said, adding that the sculpture is a “sexual Rubix cube.”

The Daily Show features guest hosts following the departure of Trevor Noah in December.
