On Nov. 29, the Morehouse Maroon Tigers basketball team (2-4) hosted LeMoyne-Owen College (3-4) at home. The game got off to a fun start as both teams took turns throwing down posterizing dunks. Hard-fought defense was emphasized by both coaches, as no easy buckets were made.

Both teams have been trying to find their rhythm this season. There's no question that Morehouse, coming off their first home loss on Nov. 27, will be able to take some positive things from this matchup. In the end, the game came down the wire but Morehouse was able to pull off the win, defeating the LeMoyne-Owen Magicians 58-63.

Freshman Xavier Brewer led the team in scoring with 15 points and 4 rebounds while freshman Amahn Decker and junior Kalin Bennet followed with 8 points each. The Morehouse cheer team kept the energy up as their multiple flips and tosses entertained the crowd.

Both squads were evenly matched.

Defense was a huge point of emphasis for the Tigers.

Cheertron, Spelman College's cheer team did their thing in support of their Morehouse brothers.

Strong leadership and solidarity led this team to a well-earned win.

On December 4-5, Morehouse will host the Brewer-McAfee Memorial Classic where they'll be facing off against Young Harris on Saturday at 2 PM, followed by Fisk University at 4 PM.
