Tennis superstar Naomi Osaka found herself in a randomly tender and beautiful moment on Friday when her match was interrupted by a butterfly. The unexpected guest arrived during the second set of the third-round contest in the Australian Open, prompting a fan to yell for the athlete's attention, Insider reported.

"Naomi, there's a butterfly on your leg!" the fan said.

But the tennis icon didn't swat away the creature. Instead, she reached down and gently placed the butterfly onto her left hand. Osaka then carried the insect to the outer edge of the court and tried to lay it safely on a towel. But the butterfly flew up into the air and landed on the athlete's nose. Still, the three-time Grand Slam champion remained gentle and carried the butterfly to the sidelines.

The woman who normally receives applause for her performance on the court was showered with cheers from the crowd after the tender moment. She also created quite a buzz on social media.

Some people didn't imagine themselves being that calm in Osaka's situation.

Others may have been even more frantic if a butterfly landed on them.

While the athlete remained calm, some viewers watched anxiously.

One social media user, who also couldn't imagine herself being gentle in a similar situation, described Osaka as a princess.

After the heartwarming moment, Osaka proceeded to win her match against world No. 27 Ons Jabeur. With the victory, the superstar advanced to the fourth round, where she will face 14th-ranked Spanish international Garbiñe Muguruza.
