If you live in New Jersey and were expecting a letter, it probably didn't get lost in the mail. It just isn't getting delivered.

An agency spokesperson said a postal worker dumped dozens of cartons of mail on River Road in Pennsauken, New Jersey.

The mail is dated August 8; however, it was discovered on Sunday when Facebook user Kewnoneal Bennett posted a photo of the abandoned postage.

Inspector Special Agent Scott Balfour, who investigates suspected misconduct by postal workers, said they have “determined the employee responsible for discarding the mail had resigned from the post office on September 8."

The exact motive for dumping the letters has yet to be discovered although it looks like a clear case of not giving a single you-know-what about a job once you've quit.

"We do not anticipate any further action against this individual," Balfour said Wednesday. "The Roxborough Station Post Office is going to deliver the mail."

Is this considered a federal offense?
