This new 6-series web show is already said to be one big hit. Her Story premiered in the fall of 2015 and looks inside the dating lives of queer and trans women, as it relates to race, class, and relationships. Not only starring, but written, directed, and produced by transgender women, this unique series is sure to have you engaged.
A hint of #blackgirlmagic caught my eye, and I’m glad it did. Paige (played by Angelica Ross) is a civil rights attorney for LAMBDA Legal. This series follows her character as she struggles to simultaneously come to terms with being transgender, yet hide it from the cis-hetero men she dates.
Follow Paige as she struggles with her self-identity, and maintains her friendship with Violet, bringing a storyline that the show’s Executive Producer, Kate Richards is surprised the audience hasn’t caught on to.
“We rarely see friendships between trans people on screen, and we rarely see friendships across racial difference where race is actually a component in the conversation that’s actually talked about.”
