Less than a month after rookie outside linebacker, Rashad Weaver, was drafted into the NFL by the Tennessee Titans, he apparently received some upsetting news from his Mom and took to Twitter to get some sympathy. Apparently, Weaver's Mom felt that being drafted by the NFL meant it was time for him to get his own phone plan and he was crushed.
My mom decided today, on her birthday she wanted to break 23 years of trust and bond we had built…. By telling me I’m in the NFL and I need to pay for my own phone bill. I feel betrayed.

Twitter users were delighted by the joke, with even the NFL taking the opportunity to poke fun at the new recruit.

Some on Twitter sympathized with Weavers' pain at having to get his own phone.
Wow, I could not imagine living through this type of hurt, prayers up my guy @rashadweaver ???????? https://t.co/9LCI7qYbX6

While others suggested that he call in reinforcements.
Time to do what’s necessary… call grandma and tell on your moms. You gotta do it. Might have to add a little lie in and say she yelled it at you so grandma can get heated ????

The hilarious Tweet even made one Twitter user realize that he had been doing the phone plan thing incorrectly all along.
I've been doing this wrong my Mom is on my family plan . Well damn I've been played .

Even phone company ATT got in on the action, which only made the joke funnier for some Twitter users.
Way to shoot your shot @ATT

Could Weaver's joke have landed him his first endorsement deal? One Twitter user had some advice to make it happen.
@RashadWeaver I smell an endorsement deal! Gone call them folks even if you have to use your mama phone.

It's clear many on Twitter are rooting for the former Carolina Panthers player, even if he does have to pay for his own phone bill from now on.
