Second-year New York Giants safety Kamrin Moore was arrested on Monday and charged with third-degree aggravated assault for stepping on his girlfriend's neck and knocking her unconscious.

On Thursday, a fight started outside of Moore's Linden, New Jersey, home between his girlfriend and another woman. The woman, who told police she had been dating the 22-year-old Moore since January, said she sent him multiple texts on Thursday but he didn't answer.

She drove to Moore's house and according to NJ.com, got into an altercation with another woman who approached her car outside of his home. A fight between his girlfriend and the other woman started, but apparently, Moore stood by and watched. When his girlfriend was thrown to the ground, he jumped in, putting his foot on her neck before she pushed him away and got to her feet.

The woman told police that she began yelling at Moore and pushed him before he hit her with a closed fist and knocked her unconscious. NJ.com reported that one of her friends took her to Rahway Hospital where she received treatment for notable bruises, scrapes and cuts.

"New York Giants safety Kamrin Moore was arrested over the weekend in Linden, New Jersey, for an alleged domestic violence-related incident," the Giants said in a statement released Monday.

"Moore has been suspended by the team pending further investigation."

Moore's girlfriend did not call the police after he punched her and filed a complaint after going to the hospital.

Moore is a fringe player on the Giants and was looking to gain a foothold on the team after playing in only two games last year. He was drafted by the New Orleans Saints in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft but was cut by the team before the season. He was then signed by the Giants in September but barely played.
