When Maria Daly reported a burglary earlier this month at her Millbury, Massachusetts home, police found "BLM" tagged on the outside of her house. But the local police chief, Donald Desorcy, had a feeling that something was off from the beginning of the investigation
She posted the "vandalism" to Facebook, writing "This is what we have to deal with these days and it makes me sick."
But the truth came out, and Daly is now scheduled to appear in court for fabricating the whole incident. She faces charges for filing a false police report as well as misleading a police investigation
"The officers did their due diligence and followed through with the investigation that we had," Desorcy said, "Basically we came to the conclusion that it was all fabricated. There was no intruder, there was no burglary."
He also said that her husband, Officer Daniel Daly, has been exonerated and wasn't involved in the incident
Some neighbors were shocked that Daly thought she would get away with such a scam. "You're a cop's wife. You should know better," said Gusti Sauber
