Multi-hyphenate talent Raven-Symoné has had an illustrious three-decade career. None of the many characters she’s played are more iconic than her role in Disney Channel’s That’s So Raven. In it, she played the titular Raven Baxter, a teenager with supernatural visions of the future. Raven-Symoné shares more with the fictitious character than a first name. The star recently revealed that she, too, has psychic powers of what’s to come.
According to Insider, the 37-year-old talked about having premonitions on Monday’s episode of The Best Podcast Ever with Raven and Miranda, which she hosts with her wife, Miranda Pearman-Maday. During a “Spin the Wheel” game, the actress shared she has visions and even stops and stares off when she has them, just like Baxter in the show.
“I do have moments where I really will just stare, and I will see a scene that is happening to me, or that is going to happen to me in another dimension, and I feel it in my body, and I’m like, ‘Yo, this is weird,'” she said.
The former talk show host continued, explaining her experience connecting with other versions of herself.
“There will be times when I’m walking, and I’ll trip over nothing, but I’ll feel in my body that I’ve been running,” she added. “And I always tell Babes, like, ‘I’m a runner.'”
She bonds with these other versions of herself through their shared “trauma.”
“When I was younger, and I had certain traumatic experiences, I personally remember after doing meditation to a level that other people would be like, ‘What are you doing?’ and I’d be like, ‘No, I need to light my candles. I’m 7, I know, but I need to light my candles, and I need to meditate.’ I just allowed my spirit guides to help me, and even to this day that can happen,” she said.
Raven-Symoné, Pearman-Maday and Keke Palmer, guest-starring in the episode, also talked about psychics and auras. Raven-Symoné said she believes in the former.
“I believe actually humans have the ability in their brain to tap into energy fields that allow for truth to connect when you know how to translate it correctly,” she said.
Since 2017, Raven-Symoné has reprised her portrayal of Baxter on the popular That’s So Raven reboot Raven’s Home. In it, a now adult Baxter is a single mom of two, and one of her children has psychic visions like her.
