Rep. Ilhan Omar opened up Wednesday about the kind of death threats she gets, sharing an anonymous letter she received on Twitter. Omar used the letter to explain her need and hatred for increased security.

Omar shared the letter after a photo of her was posted on Twitter, which showed the congresswoman accompanied by security while giving a speech. The threat laid out how Omar "will not be going back to Washington" and that her "life will end before your 'Vacation' ends."

"I hate that we live in a world where you have to be protected from fellow humans. I hated it as a child living through war and I hate it now," Omar tweeted on Wednesday. "But until deranged people like this stop threatening my life and the lives of others, I have to accept the reality of having security."

The Minnesota congresswoman's entire ordeal comes after Alabama Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore said Omar should "go back to Somalia" following a resolution that called for her expulsion from Congress.

The Alabama Republican party has urged for her removal by passing a resolution introduced by state Rep. Tommy Hanes, who, according to The Hill, has stated that Omar's support for protest movements against Israel engages in "rhetoric that explicitly runs counter to American values and patriotism."

Moore tweeted support for the resolution, as well as his agreement with comments made by President Trump, who also said she should go back to Somalia.

Omar responded to the resolution, telling the Alabama Republican party that they should fix their own act before looking at someone else.

"Sorry, [Alabama GOP], but this is a representative democracy," Omar tweeted. "I was elected with 78% of the vote by the people of Minnesota's 5th District, not the Alabama Republican Party. If you want to clean up politics, maybe don't nominate an accused child molester as your Senate candidate."

A spokesperson for Omar told The Washington Post that the threat has been reported to law enforcement who is investigating its origins.
