A Dunkin' Donuts in Maryland is offering free food and coffee to customers if they snitch on bilingual employees.
WBAL producer Gillian Morley posted a picture of the sign on Twitter, adding it was put up in a Baltimore location by the store's general manager.
This sign is being displayed at a @dunkindonuts in Baltimore. General manager posted a sign asking customers to report employees not speaking English. Even offering a reward. #shocking

@dunkindonuts doesn't mind exploiting immigrant labor. I've never been to one that was staffed by anyone white. As long as the employees can speak English to customers, who cares what they speak to each other?

The sign reads, "If you hear any of our staff shouting in a language other than English, please call 443-415-7775 immediately with the name of the employee to receive a coupon for free coffee and a pastry."
WBAL called the number, and the man who answered said he no longer managed that location but admitted to putting up a similar sign when he worked there.
The picture caused outrage on social media and was eventually taken down.
But they're allowed to whisper in another language right?? smh ????????♀️

when should we expect the "Buy One Donut Get One Free…If You're White" promotion? and will it be a national thing or just this store?

I wish I could go to the Dunkin' Donuts in Baltimore, so I could speak Pig Latin, just to F with them. ????

@dunkindonuts WTF? If this story from your Baltimore store is true, I will NEVER buy a dunking donuts product again. Disgusting!

A spokesperson from Dunkin' Donuts released a statement defending the sign:
"Dunkin' Donuts and our franchisees share the goal of creating a welcoming and hospitable environment for all guests. The franchise owner has informed us that the sign was posted by their general manager based on her own personal judgment to ensure those standards are being met. While her intent was to address a customer service and satisfaction issue, the franchisee determined her approach was inappropriate and confirmed the sign has been removed."
