nullAs Marvel Studios begins principal photography on its newest Super Hero franchise, "Ant-Man," additional casting announcements have been made.

Joining star Paul Rudd as Scott Lang aka Ant-Man, Michael Douglas as his mentor Dr. Hank Pym, and Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne, daughter of Hank Pym, are Wood Harris and T.I., along with Corey Stoll, Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, John Slattery and Gregg Turkington.

Still no word on what specific roles each of the above actors have been cast to play; notably T.I. and Wood Harris. Although, in a new interview with V100.7 Radio, T.I. did tease his involvement in the film, when asked, saying that he wasn’t at liberty to talk about the part, but that he would be… drum-roll… "a superhero’s homeboy."

When it was first announced that he’d joined the film’s cast, many of you were worried that he’d be playing a hoodlum, thug, or a gangster, and the like. Well, while his revelation to V100.7 may not entirely calm your concerns, it looks like he’s at least be one of the good guys – "a superhero’s homeboy;" That superhero likely being Ant-Man. Those who are familiar with the Ant-Man comic book universe can chime in with your expertise on just who this "homeboy" to Ant-Man might be.

Based on the Marvel comic character first published in 1962, Marvel’s "Ant-Man" continues the lineage of big-screen adventures chronicled in Marvel’s “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk,” “Iron Man 2,” “Thor,” “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s The Avengers,” “Iron Man 3,” “Thor: The Dark World,” “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Guardians of the Galaxy," "Black Panther" and "Luke Cage"… oh, wait a minute; scratch the last 2. I got carried away there.

Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, con-man Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas), protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats.

Set for release on July 17, 2015, the film is directed by Peyton Reed (“Bring it On,” “The Break-Up”).

Marvel’s “Ant-Man” is produced by Marvel Studios’ president, Kevin Feige, with Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee serving as executive producers.
