Freeda Foreman, daughter of famed boxing champion and businessman George Foreman, was found dead at her home in Houston, Texas, late Saturday. Her death has been ruled a suicide.

On Monday, TMZ reported the Harris County Coroner's Office in Texas determined the cause of the retired boxer's death was "asphyxia by hanging."

According to the New York Daily News, Freeda was 42 years old. On Saturday, family members reportedly found her unresponsive.

When authorities were called, they investigated to determine if her death was a suicide. It was initially unconfirmed, Page Six reports.

One of Foreman's seven daughters born and raised in Houston, Freeda remained in the city. She's survived by a large family that includes her husband, two daughters, three grandchildren, her parents and 11 siblings.

In 2000, Freeda set out to follow in her father's footsteps, becoming a middleweight boxer. The former fighter won her first five matches but retired after losing her sixth. In her short career, she had three knockouts.

“Dad never wanted any of his kids to see him fight,” she said in a 2000 interview with the London Mirror. “He always protected us from that world.”

Freeda later focused her attention on raising a family with her husband and spent time working as a boxing promoter.

Boxing wasn't her only passion. She was an advocate for criminal justice reform.

“Aside from my love of family, being a good mother, wife, and friend, I aspire to make a positive difference in our American criminal justice system,” she wrote in her Twitter bio.

There was also a foray into voice acting when she guest-starred in a 2003 episode of King of the Hill.
