Leah Remini has been an outspoken critic of Scientology for some time now. In her 2015 memoir, Troublemaker, the King of Queens actress claimed Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were card-carrying members of the church, a rumor both actors have reported to be false.

On Jada’s Facebook show Red Table Talk, Remini appeared as a guest and apologized to her for the false accusation.

“I wasn’t even considering that you would be hurt literally, looking back on it, I didn’t even consider Jada and Will,” a tearful Remini said. “And I’m sorry that I didn’t consider you because I didn’t. I was so caught up in that pain and also the pain of others and the effects that it had.”

Remini was a member for most of her life before splitting from the church in 2013. Since then, she has been critical of the religion and began the Emmy-winning docuseries Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath.

“It upset me because I didn’t understand why we had to be in your book, because you know, we really didn’t have anything to do with this,” Smith told Remini.

Pinkett Smith also disclosed her relationship with the controversial religious group. “I always took the position that I’m here at the Scientology Center to learn what I want to learn, and I have no interest in being a Scientologist,” she said.
