Tyrese Gibson went to Instagram on Sunday to ask his fans to pray for his mother, Priscilla Murray, who has been placed in the ICU while battling complications from COVID-19 and pneumonia.

"My mother is in a coma, in ICU, with Pneumonia and she caught Covid they got her so sedated she can't breathe or even eat on her own……. This has been going on all week I haven't posted [ I'm doing it this time cause I feel helpless," the actor wrote on Instagram. "This is my cry for help…. I need prayers the most sincere prayers from you prayer warrior."

Gibson said he was in the middle of filming when he received the worst call he ever got.

“I just had to ask the director let me pause for a second close my eyes and pray," he said. "God is able to do things, he’s pulled you OUT of a coma before….. Oh God I seen the light things have been going so well…. Now this…."

Gibson encouraged his followers to write their prayers in the comment section.

"I feel helpless and need my prayer warriors to cover my mother please please keep her father God she’s got so much more to do….." he wrote. "Amen…. I’m her Baby Boy I don’t know if I will be able to handle this one….Text me don’t call I don’t have any words right now fight mother please fight."

The star later followed up with another post to announce that he's on his way to see his mother.

"When the director has a heart and compassion they will re-arrange a wall to wall shooting schedule to help me get to my mother….." he shared.

Gibson continued to pray when he posted a photo from the hospital.

"Thank you for your outpouring of prayers love and energy mother is still here and she’s still fighting……" he wrote. "Since I’ve arrived I feel the warmth of love and angels surrounding mother……. I feel this powerful overwhelming since of calm……."

Gibson also shared an older photo of his mother leaning on his shoulders.

"Mother we need you and love you please keep fighting….." he wrote. "Sincere prayer warriors my mother needs you now more than ever…."

On Sunday night, the 43-year-old expressed his thoughts in a video message while covering his mouth with several masks at the hospital.

“My mom is here, she’s on six or seven different things that’s got her relaxed and calm,” he said. “She’s in what’s called an induced coma. They had to put her in a coma just to make sure she’s relaxed while they’re giving her all these medicines to help fight pneumonia and COVID. As I’m sitting here, what I wanna tell you guys is that the Lord Jesus Christ is responsible for every breath that I see entering into my mom’s body right now. We’ve had our share of issues over the years but as I sit here I’m thanking God for every breath.”

The actor sat in front of a glass window and watched his mother while sending her words of encouragement.

“People around the world are praying for you, Mom,” he said. “Thank you for everything you’ve ever done for me, Mom. I love you. Where would I be without you, Mom? I love you. Just keep fighting. … I am strong because of you. I know Jesus because of you.”

The F9 star reflected on his journey while watching his mother.

"All of a sudden, every issue, every misunderstanding, the way my childhood was, how I was raised, all of these different issues that I find myself holding onto, God has a way of getting rid of everything you're carrying," he said. "As I'm sitting here and my mom is in a comma, all I want is for her to continue to inhale and exhale."
