The internet has taken clowning a bit too far according to cops in the United Kingdom. 

Police in the United Kingdom are warning citizens against mocking suspects’ physical appearance in mugshots as doing so may result in their prosecution. 

According to The BBC, 21-year-old Jermaine Taylor is wanted on a probation violation for supplying illegal drugs. The Gwent Police released Taylor's mugshot on Facebook on August 8 prompting thousands of comments about the man's captivating hairstyle. 

Two long puffs of hair stood up on the Newport resident's head, creating a most unflattering mugshot.

Taylor was sentenced to three years in prison in September 2017 for the drug-related charges. He breached the conditions of his probation following his release from prison in December 2018.

“Push his release date back further than his hairline, that should teach him,” one person wrote. 

"Who done his hair? Moses?" wrote Facebook user Kelly Rebecca Thomas.

Since the posting, the department was forced to inform users that social media harassment could lead to legal trouble.

"Please remember that harassing, threatening and abusing people on social media can be against the law," the force said in a now-deleted Facebook post captured by Newsweek. 

"Our advice is to be as careful on social media as you would in any other form of communication," they continued. If you say something about someone which is grossly offensive or is of an indecent, obscene or menacing character, then you could be investigated by the police."

The original posting is no longer on Facebook, and police are reportedly still looking for Taylor, The Guardian reports. Police are asking the public to report any information they may have.
