For your weekend entertainment, here’s Richard Pryor singing the blues. For real. No joking around and I
think you’ll be as amazed as I was.

Before he become the legendary comedy genius that he was,
Pryor actually started out as a drummer in New York City night clubs in the early
1960s, and though he quickly moved into comedy, he also sang, even opening
for Nina Simone and Bob Dylan.

So here is a just recently rediscovered short film of Pryor
singing the old classic song Nobody Knows
You When You’re Down and Out, and you’ll see that among his many talents, Pryor
had an incredibly good, soulful voice.

You have to wish that we had more opportunities to see this side of this extraordinary talent.
