null"Who Do You Think You Are" is an American genealogy documentary series that premiered on NBC on March 5, 2010. The show is an adaptation of the British series of the same name, aired by the BBC. Each week a celebrity goes on a journey to trace his or her family tree. The series ran for 27 episodes, broadcast over 3 seasons, before it was cancelled by NBC in 2012. It was then picked up by TLC, where it currently calls home. TLC renewed the series for a 5th season that will premiere tomorrow, July 23, at 9/8c.

Digging through the series’ archives, after I was alerted to its season 5 premiere tomorrow night, I stumbled upon the below episode that aired in 2010, which featured Spike Lee, as he unraveled the mystery of his mother’s slave ancestry, which led him through the old South, where he discovered a relationship that just might change "everything" – as the intro says.
