Afghanistan dominated the news this week, but Drake's name somehow got dragged into the mix. The artist's name came up when social media users shared a video of the Taliban dancing to his "In My Feelings" song. According to The Associated Press, however, the video has been proven to be fake.

Afghanistan became the center of world news when Taliban fighters captured the capital city, Kabul, shortly after the U.S. military evacuated the country. As Blavity previously reported, disturbing images showed citizens of Afghanistan clinging on to a plane and attempting to flee the country as the Taliban take power.

Chloe flaunts for Flaunt Magazine

While Drake's name was getting dragged into the chaos in Afghanistan, plenty of other celebrities for made headlines for various reasons. Chloe and Halle Bailey turned heads when they graced the cover of Flaunt Magazine. The two sisters appeared on the cover separately and told the story of their journey to stardom.

“There was a moment particularly when I was in London, and doing things on my own, and working every day, and working very hard, where I was like, ‘Okay, this must be what it feels like to have myself to rely on,’” Halle told the publication. “I am kind of proud of myself. This has been a wild ride into adulthood.”

Chloe is also just as proud of the challenges she has overcome to become an R&B star.

“Being a woman, and then on top of that, being a young Black woman, there are so many challenges that come with each one of those defining factors of who I am as a person,” she said. “There is nothing like feeling that I am proud of myself because I went against the grain and did something that people said I could not do.”

And unfortunately, Ari Melber did the same

“COVID is dangerous,” Melber said in the clip. “It’s lethal. It’s a bit like the beef The Notorious B.I.G. used to rap about when he said, ‘Beef is when your moms ain’t safe up in the streets/Beef is when I see you/Guaranteed to be in I-C-U.’”

Many social media users described the segment as cringeworthy.

Some people, however, approved the message and the performance.
